Over 5000 people attended the annual fathers day Drags for V8 Street machines at Fram Autolite Dragway on of course Fathers Day.

The top 8 American and Aussie Street registered V8’s went through eliminations into the top 8 shootout. Wayne Grimmer turned up with his new 73 Barracuda as did Bruce Cox (71 Camaro), Reece Fish (56 Chev Bel Air) and Ian Rainbow in the latest issues cover car — 50 Chev Coupe. The Aussie shootout featured Kelvin Blacks 93 Commodore, Aaron Jenkins 72 Monaro and Damon Birch’s 80 Ford Falcon ute.
Aussie Muscle Car Masters

From Eastern Creek in Sydney it’s Australia’s biggest muscle car event. The Kiwi CMC cars were there to compete in 4 races plus the end of event Trans Tasman Muscle car Challenge. After a disastrous crash in race 2 which took out 3 of the Kiwi muscle cars it was back to the track for race 3. Plus we look at some of the legend Aussie Touring cars of yesteryear that paved the way for the V8 Supercars that run today.

Fathers Day Drags 2009 261Aussie Muscle Car Masters

24 Kiwi’ drivers from the New Zealand Central Muscle cars went to Eastern Creek in Sydney for the 2010 Australian Muscle Car Masters. The highlight was the final event on the program ‘The Trans Tasman Touring Car Challenge between the Aussie Biante Muscle cars and the Kiwis. In between they would have 4 races on the program along with the Biante Aussie Muscle cars,  The Touring car Masters, and encompassing every touring car era from the late 50’s right up to the last Group A cars of the early 1990’s. NZV8TV went along and caught all the action including a huge accident in the 2nd race that left 3 cars destroyed. We also catch a lap with Glenn Seton in his 97 EL Ford V8 Supercar.

Australian Muscle Car Masters 2009

A big contingent of 25 plus Kiwi’s from the Central Muscle Cars and Northern Muscle Car Club are travelling to Eastern Creek Sydney this weekend for the 2009 Aussie Muscle Car Masters. NZV8 TV will be covering the action. Before they left we caught the Drivers and cars at a final test and tune day at Pukekohe before they headed over the ditch for the Muscle Car Trans Tasman Challenge. NZV8 TV will be featuring all the coverage of the Kiwi’s and the legends of Australian Touring cars at the event over the coming series. It will all culminate in a 1 hour special on Powerbuilt Tools Motorsport this October.

Corvette Club

It’s the iconic American Sports Muscle car and it was Corvette heaven at the Corvette Club Trackday in Taupo recently. Featuring Tony Gordon’s Corvette muscle car race machine and other Corvette minters that took to the track.

From the latest issue of NZV8 it’s Shane Ushaw’s 69 SS Camaro Convertible.
