Paul Stubber, an Aussie who’s come over to New Zealand to compete in the Central Muscle Car Series with his Camaro. Paul joined the Kiwi’s at Eastern Creek for the Aussie Muscle car Masters and then competed against the CMC cars in the Trans Tasman Challenge. We catch up with Paul while competing at Pukekohe last weekend to check out his SS Camaro Muscle car.
Central Muscle Cars

Repairing the 3 CMC cars of Mandy Sinclair, Shane Johnson and Bruce Kett who all but wrote their cars off in a huge crash at the Aussie Muscle car Masters. The team from Moselle Panel and Paint offered to do it for free. This is the result.

Supercheap Auto Powercruise

The massive event that is Powercruise was held in Taupo for the first time just last weekend, and NZV8 TV were there to catch all the action. Powercruise includes a range of on and off track events, such as Powerskids, Drag Racing, a Burnout Competition, Bikini Competition, Dyno Shootout as well as your chance to cruise the track with your mates in the car.

Event organizer Michael ‘Gup’ Gilbert brought his big block turbo powered HQ Holden out to show the locals how it’s done and laid down a record Powerskid of over 600meters!

We check out Parry Hunts new Camaro Top Doorslammer, Goof and Tony Sherwins repaired ‘Limbo’ 498 Big Block Chevy engined Escort wrecked at the final NZDRA round last season and catch up with Ross Taylor 2009 Top Doorslamer NZDRA Series champion, and Todd Vincent back after destroying his Top Alcohol Dragster engine at the final round last season.

Muscle car driver Paul Stubber owns two genuine HDT A9X Toranas previously driven by John Harvey and Wayne Negus in the late 70’s. At the recent Australian Muscle Car Masters Paul and V8 Supercar driver Jason Richards drove the cars in the Group C class. They compare driving these historic V8 Touring cars with today’s hi-tech V8 Supercars.

Kiwi Expat Colin Warrington now residing on the Gold Coast shows us his 69 SS Camaro.

V8 Utes in the Entertainment Business

Jon Udy and Victor Chapman used to be Drifters. Jon Udy had the only V8 Drifter competing in The New Zealand Drift Series. Now he’s moved away from competing, into Motorsport as entertainment. Jon and Victor put their two V8 drift utes on show at Speedweek and are bringing their tyre smoking routine to a track or car park near you.
