While most of or features cars are designed and built to go fast, Andrew Lister’s ‘64 Impala was designed to roll low and slow. As the best low rider in the country, and as a car of Issue 50, we sent Euan along to see what the low riding craze is all about.

Speed lovers don’t miss out on the action though, as we caught up with Shane Johnson and his 65 Mustang notchback Central Muscle Car.

From here, things get even faster, with Carl Hansen giving us the lowdown on his insane Rover powered TVR Tuscan. Carl and the car have been setting lap records for years, we find out how.

Scott Campbell from Fram Autoloite Dragway was one of the many Kiwi’s who jumped the ditch to go to the Castrol Edge Winternationals. We made sure he took a camera with him to catch the action from the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest drag meet.

Issue 50 of NZV8 magazine has a huge feature on the up and coming young drivers such as 21 year old Todd Vincent. We caught up with the top alcohol dragster driver who so nearly won the NZDRA Top Alcohol Series Championship this year. From only one season in Supercharged Outlaws which he won, Todd was given the keys to the Vincent family dragster as a 21st birthday present. Todd Vincent the fastest 21 year old in New Zealand.

On Track

You guys have been loving the GT1 spec cars we’ve been showing you, so here’s another one. Kevin Bovey’s Trans Am spec Jaguar XKR, as seen in NZV8 Issue 41. Kevin built the car from the ground up, and although we aren’t usually too fond of Euro’s the car has to be seen to be believed.

Speaking of Euros, we found a V8 powered Mercedes doing laps with the Production Muscle Cars class at Pukekohe.

It’s low, loud, tubbed and blown¦ it’s Tony Etheridge’s Camaro. The word extreme doesn’t really describe this car. Without doubt the Camaro is one of the wildest street cars the country has ever seen.
