2013 Ford Mustang – teaser images leaked online

November 15th, 2011 by NZV8

An updated Ford Mustang is on its way and is widely expected to be put on show later this week at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. To get Mustang fans all hyped up the blue oval has dropped a teaser image showing some of the changes for the new model.

The four separate shots include cropped images of redesigned head- and taillights as well as upgraded instrumentation with Ford’s Track App display. The new Mustang is expected to borrow styling cues from the current Shelby GT500 model and this will mean more a more aggressive aesthetic.

Aerodynamics are also set to improve with the addition of a new chin splitter and rear spoiler. But for many fans, what’s in store for the new 2013 GT500 has them really excited.  (more…)

Dodge previews 2011 Mopar Charger super sedan

April 8th, 2011 by NZV8

Over in the States the 2010 Mopar Challenger arrived last year and proved an instant hit. Mopar fans went crazy for the machine and with Chrysler only offering 500 copies of the model, they sold out rapidly. Now in 2011, the all-new Dodge Charger is filling up Dodge showrooms around America, and Chrysler aren’t going to miss a trick by not giving some special vehicles a Mopar makeover.

As a signal of intent, Chrysler has released a first teaser sketch of its forthcoming special edition model. The rendering shows off a black and blue color scheme similar to that of the Challenger, but the side stripes have been replaced with a stripe that stretches across the bonnet, roof and boot. The Mopar team has also dropped the bulbous hood scoop for the model, opting for a more streamlined appearance. (more…)

Trailer released for NZ-made Paddock Hacks TV show (+video)

October 29th, 2010 by NZV8

There seems to be a growing number of you crazy fellas out there getting into paddock hacking. But what exactly is this paddock hacking all about? Well, it involves taking an old crapper car, getting it running again, stripping it down, then racing it like it’s stolen through paddocks and various unchecked terrain until it’s properly busted. Sounds like fun right? Well plenty of us seem to think so and that’s why we are the first nation in the world to have a TV show dedicated to paddock hacks.

While it is just a pilot at this stage, the first trailer for Paddock Hacks has been revealed online and it’s already gathering interest on a global scale. At this stage much is unknown about the show, like the racing format and regulations but also how exactly thrashing old jappa cars through paddocks can make good viewing for a whole season. But it can’t be any worse than Shortland Street and for now the preview trailer is straight-up awesome and somehow makes you proud to be a kiwi.

Check out the teaser video below and be sure to let us know your thoughts on paddock hacking and this new TV Show in the comments section. (more…)

HSV E Series 2 – second teaser video

Holden Special Vehicles has released a second teaser video for its upcoming E Series 2 range, but it reveals very little.

V8 Supercar driver Garth Tander plays the lead role in the low-budget vid, and although there are no glimpses of the new car to be had, Tander does at least say the E Series 2 will be noticeably quicker than HSV’s current Commodore-based range.

The E Series 2 is set to be the most extensively engineered HSV product ever.

HSV Managing Director Phil Harding is busy talking it up by saying that total investment in the E Series 2 project is greater than the combined development cost of HSV’s previous VX, VY and VZ-based products, and that those who’ve already seen it have been “blown away”.

So prepare to be blown away when the new HSV range launches this September 9th.
