Blue Angels Mustang GT lands $400,000 USD at auction

August 3rd, 2011 by NZV8

Last month we brought you news of a special one-off Mustang built for the world’s biggest aviation event, the EAA AirVenture show in Wisconsin, USA (read news). Each year since 2006, Ford has revealed a new tribute car for the event and this year’s vehicle pays homage to the Blue Angels naval aviation demonstration team.

After it is revealed, the car is then auctioned for charity with this year’s beneficiary being the EAA Young Eagles program which gives free introductory flights to young people.

Red Bull quitting on NASCAR after 2011 season

June 22nd, 2011 by NZV8

Energy drink juggernaut Red Bull isn’t slowing down its dominance in Formula 1 with five wins from seven races this season, but for NASCAR its a much different story.

Red Bull has been flashing its brand in front of American race fans for five NASCAR seasons now and for just one race win. Now rumours are flying that the Red Bull Racing Team is going to pack it all in and pull out of the racing series for good.

Team officials further fueled the speculation by not denying the move at the Michigan International Speedway where the NASCAR field raced last Sunday. The Red Bull team is expected to see out the current season, and is starting to look for a buyer to step in and take over its pair of Toyota Camry stock cars. Looks like even a massive corporate like Red Bull just can’t win em all.
