FPV puts GT Black into limited production – 8 units coming to NZ

August 9th, 2011 by NZV8

Following on from positive feedback at this year’s Australian International Motor Show, FPV has just announced the launch of its most limited edition vehicle to date, the 2011 GT Black.

Based on the black-on-black FPV GT Concept this special Falcon will be put into limited production of just 125 units with only 8 coming to New Zealand.

The GT Black will make use of the standard supercharged Boss 335kW GT engine, but receives a number of styling tweaks.

“We were totally blown away by the positive feedback received from fans and show-goers on our Concept,” FPV General Manager Rod Barrett said. “We knew we had a winner with the black paintwork and we wanted to action something immediately. The GT Black is the beginning of some exciting times ahead as we continue to work on new product and design enhancements to reflect the needs and wants of the market.”

With all black finished styling, black alloy wheels, black tail pipes and all-new matt black striping decals the GT Black sticks to its theme and creates a menacing figure. It will only be available in black. (more…)

Allan Moffat takes FPV’s new Boss 335 GT for a spin (+video)

Since its recent release Ford has been all about big claims that its 2011 Boss 335 GT goes seriously hard, and is motivated by the most-powerful V8 ever offered in an Australian sedan. While we knew they were for real, a new video featuring race legend Allan Moffat is now driving the point home.

FPV’s high-tech, supercharged 5.0 litre V8 engine produces 335kW of power and 570Nm of torque, and is now standard fitment across the GT, GT-P and GT E models. It’s also very compact in size — 47kg lighter than the outgoing 5.4 litre Boss 315kW engine. It’s certainly enough power to easily get owners in trouble with the law.
