I remember when a mate of mine bought a genuine A9X SLR5000 for $11,000. That was only in 1997 and at the time we thought it was alot of money for an old Torana. Not too long ago now, but long enough to make it worth more than ten-times the amount he paid for it. If he still has it that is.
Shannons will be auctioning off this rare A9X Torana SLR5000 sedan, one of only 62 in this colour, at the 2008 Shannons Melbourne Winter Classic Auction to be held on the 2nd of June. The expected price range for this original SLR5000 is between AUD$150,000-$170,000 according to Shannons. Hmm, I wonder if my uncle still has that XU-1 GT-R.
