Vaughn Gittin Jr. to build RTR-X Mustang for SEMA show

May 31st, 2010 by NZV8

Vaughn Gittin Jr. is well known in the States for his ability to pilot Ford Mustangs sideways as he currently leads the points race in the 2010 Formula Drift season. But over the past year Gittin has diversified and has got busy launching his own car brand named RTR which kicked off with last year’s SEMA show in Vegas with the debut of his RTR-C Mustang.

Now, Gittin is back with a will a follow-up to the RTR-C and most likely something even more impressive. In a collaboration with Team Need for Speed, the drifter/car builder will unveil another Mustang at this year’s 2010 SEMA show dubbed the RTR-X. Based on a 1969 Mustang using a Dynacorn replacement body shell, the RTR-X will be powered by the new 5.0-litre V8 from the 2011 Mustang GT and a special one-off sub-frame from Art Morrison.
