Three 2007 Holden Commodore Utes which compete locally in the V8 Ute championship are currently on their way to Australia to compete at Bathurst.
Drivers Peter ‘Kaos’ Ward, Peter ‘Rocketman’ Robb and James ‘Huggi’ Urquhart have all had success locally, and are looking forward to the opportunity to race abroad.
Jenner Cargo are currently shipping the utes in one of their specially built vehicle shipping containers.
Being the 50th anniversary of the Great Race this year, the Aussie ute series is aiming to get 50 utes on the grid for the first race of the weekend, so invited the whole Kiwi field, unfortunately though just three could make the trip.
The utes have a practice on the Thursday, practice and qualifying on the Friday, 2 races on Saturday and the final race at 8am on the Sunday of the main event.
The three kiwi drivers would like to thank A-Ward Attachments for helping to sponsor the trip. We wish them all the best!
