Movie star and V8 enthusiast Eric Bana is set to make a return to Bathurst this year, competing in the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro next month.

The renowned car lover who starred in and directed Love The Beast, which documented the loss of his XB GT Falcon – had a 10th place finish at last year’s Bathurst event.

He won’t be racing a 8-cylinder this time around instead opting for the same Mitsubishi Evolution X he used last year. He is also in the same endurance team with Tim Leahey and Peter Hill.

“At the end of the day we are better prepared than we were this time last year. Pete and Eric are a lot more advanced than they were last year and we are definitely in with a chance to win,” Teammate Tim Leahey said.

“Racing is relaxing for me now and doing it with Pete and Eric is great as we are close mates and it also gives us a chance to hang out. “

The Mitsubishi Evolution is well proven in the 12 Hour event, with Evolution IX and Evolution X cars taking out both the 2008 and 2009 honours.
