Saturday closed with our first elimination round, Crew Chief and I had a brief chat and decided to disconnect battery number 4 which was fully charged prior to being put in the boot so it wouldn’t discharge overnight, we were using jump pack number 3 to start Crew Chief’s Commodore and our fellow racers were starting to hide their jump packs away from the guys in the orange car.. I took my daughter Stefanee around to meet a few of the other teams camping at the track for the event. I couldn’t resist and when I introduced her to Doug I added “Doug eliminated me”, and it kinda stuck. so whenever I introduced anyone to Doug I added “Doug eliminated me”.. that bloody Mat Crooks and his friends kept me up all Saturday night with the ‘bus pumping.. na just jokes Matty you and the crew rock!! especially the guy who took my boy for his first ride on a motorbike.. he loved it and he felt really trusting of the rider so a double thanks for that.. My daughter progressed from driving the car in the driveway to driving the car in an aerodrome as she was given the reins to the family car to cut some laps in the grass strip area, which we didn’t know was out-of-bounds til Bob came and ever so politely asked us to park the car… Saturday was a great day and an excellent evening post-racing..
