went to Porirua for the North City car show.. I have one thing to say – Lime Green Galaxie.. why are there no “drooling” smiley faces, surely there’s enough porn sites with chat rooms to warrant someone making one up..
anyway that Galaxie was my pick of the show and I made sure I went back 3 or 4 times and them went back for some photos.. I’ll edit this entry and put a photo in later on.. there was a nice HT Monaro and a couple of earlier Galaxies there of note.. the red Valiant ute was another pick of the show.. nice promo cards too mate.. there was a couple of decent motors on show like a supercharged small block in a camaro and the ever popular super snake Mustang powerplant was pretty awesome too, though all the extra billet caps everywhere seemed tacky, but what about that motor..
the show was worth the price of entry (not the same entry fee of a gold coin donation as the radio was espousing) and the venue had a great “feel” about it.. it was in your face from car 1, a ricer import show car that looked pretty modified to the Super Sedan HQ I love so much.. whats not to love about a supercharged big block.. the comp cars were a great contrast to the cars opposite them and the bikes nearby as well.. there were some great local cars seen out cruising as well so well done to all in that respect..
we parked the family car in the New World car park and got a primo spot exposure wise for our current sponsors.. the car looked great and sounded great too.. I was totally knackered after wandering about the show so we went to New World and got some stuff and we headed for home..
as we exited the car park under nearly full left lock I heard a distinctly un-regular-motoring noise, it was like a sway bar link/sway bar contact noise, or a spring-loaded clunking noise.. whatever it was I’m gonna contact Paul at Firestone Wainui to see about some hoist time to check the front sway bar assembly and the associated areas under the car, will also re-centre the steering wheel, it’s been off centre since the refit of the lower steering propellor shaft.. no biggie but want it dead-centre for the track day at least..
