Slowly but Surely

November 1st, 2010 by barry

Well it’s been a while since my last blog and that isn’t because things haven’t been happening to “Inbred”, but just that I’ve been to busy (insert ‘slack’) to sit down and write anything.

Tom has been busy too (do not insert ‘slack’ lol), but has still found some time to ooze his creative juices on the beddy front end. Here are some updated pics of how it’s looking…

I must admit that when I first agreed with Tom that he should make a new chassis for the Beddy, I didn’t realise the wait would be this painful. Don’t get me wrong – I think it was the right idea and Tom is doing a bloody great job. I am sure that the truck will feel/handle sooo much better when it is done, but it is so hard sitting back waiting to see new updates every couple of weeks and knowing there is nothing I can do about it. What I do do though is spend hours daily thinking of what I am going to do to the project when I get it. And the ideas change daily, if not by the minute. Do I paint it or do I leave it as it is? Will I go for a flat bed or well side on the back, duals or single on the rear, old school interior or like new? – the list goes on. And that is where YOU can help. I would love to hear all your thoughts/ideas and even new ideas I hadn’t thought of. After all it is supposed to be a learning experience for all of us.

One thing I would love your help with is this: I am really unsure if I should run fenders or not. I would prefer to go fenderless but understand that you have to be a member of a hotrod club for a year and have an exemption certificate. I have never been one for clubs and having to go to at least 2 meetings a month to be a member etc, so was wandering if anyone out there knows of any other options? If I do run fenders I don’t want to run the little curved metal fenders that just barely cover the tops of the wheels as I don’t think they will suit the rest of the car, and would want full fenders but not sure what would suit.

Would be great to hear from YOU…..
